Sunday Snapshot- "Fall's Awaking"

As you can see, the trees in my background are pretty green. But they are slowly turning colors! Look at the leaves in Joshua's hands, beautiful, right? 

I have come to realize that photography a little boy is a LOT more challenging than a little girl. It's a working progress I tell you that. But here he is in the little brown chair putting up with his big sister!

We are headed to the fair tomorrow! Hope to get some cool shots there!

Favorite Photo Friday- "Joshua"

It's been awhile since I've posted about Joshua. So this is my "update". I took this pictures outside on Tuesday. I am also not sure if I told you, his foster Mom was here.

You could see the worry on his face. Wondering if he'd be taken away. If we were giving him back. We saw the first weeks home again. The temper tantrums, the whining, the battles. They all came back.

She is visiting another family until Tuesday, then she'll be back. It could have set him back REALLY far. However he's doing VERY well. 

So sorry lil' bud, that your life is so uncertain right now. You'll learn to trust.

Sunday Snapshot- "Jamestown"

Friday we took a field trip to the Jamestown Settlement, here in Virginia.

It was a great deal of fun and everyone enjoyed the hands-on experience.

They have three 'sections' the Indian Village, the English Ships, and the Settlement.

We learned how to make rope in the Indian Village.

We were also able to go on the beautiful replicas of the three ships that landed there.

(Not the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria.)

In the Settlement we watched some Musket fire, which Lily did not like.

And Mom met and old friend from 9th grade! Wow, long time no see, literally. She also adopted from China. Ainsley is 5 and in the pink shirt. 

It was a great day, and we had Chick-Fil-A for dinner!

In church we sing a song it's called "Your Love Never Fails."

This is the chorus.

You stay the same through the ages

Your love never changes

There may be pain in the night

but joy comes in the morning.

And when the oceans rage

I don't have to be afraid

Because I know that you love me

Your love never fails

You  make all things work together for my good.

Isn't that great? I read Psalm 30:5 this morning and thought of this song.

Sunday Snapshot- "It Bends"

A couple weeks ago I told you Lily was getting a new leg, that bends. It is here, and it bends.

The knee has been a HUGE change for her. She can no longer walk independently. Physical therapy is helping her learn to bend and walk on the knee. In between those sessions and us helping her, she uses her walker.

The "socket" has new fabric! It was picket out by Mom and chosen by Lily! She is really into Hello Kitty lately. So the socket has Hello Kitty all over it!

She is doing SO well. But it's hard seeing her cry when her knee gives out unexpectedly.

And you can see her death grip as she cruises along furniture. She becomes so scared of it bending she practically drags it along. She is getting better though. 

I'm not concerned, she'll be running before I know it! Despite the fact her world has changed she still keeps smiling on.

Sometimes I wish I had her determination. She never gives up.

I'm getting new glasses!

Yayy!

Why?

Mine broke :(

Like back in China..

thank goodness for duck tape right??

It wasn't a big deal because I'm contacts by day

and glasses by night.

I wanted to get really big nerdy glasses, like REALLY big.

That's what I was going for.

I tried on like a million of em'.

But then I saw mine.

They weren't big, but they were mine!

Oh, well.
